Brian Tarquin and BHP productions have recently added the second volume to the critically acclaimed Guitar Masters series with Guitar Masters Volume II (via Red Eye). Produced by accomplished guitarist, composer and producer Brian Tarquin, Guitar Masters Volume II is a rich collection of rarities and classic guitar songs performed by some of the world's top players. The collection includes a 1970 original track from Jimmy Page & Lord Sutch, an incredible live version of B.B. King performing his classic “Paying the Cost to be the Boss” and Van Halen’s “Light up the Sky” performed by Yngwie Malmsteen and Billy Sheehan.
"It was a guitar players dream to work with such unbelievable tracks from such icons as Jimmy Page, B.B. King, Santana, and to have worked with Steve Morse & the great Max Middleton to produce such gems that are on Guitar Masters Vol 2,” says producer Brian Tarquin.

William "Billy" Sheehan (born on March 19, 1953, in Buffalo, New York) is an American bassist known for his work with Talas, Steve Vai, David Lee Roth, Mr. Big, and Niacin. Sheehan has won the "Best Rock Bass Player" readers' poll from Guitar Player Magazine five times for his "lead bass" playing style. Sheehan's repertoire includes the use of chording, two-handed tapping, right hand "three finger picking" technique and controlled feedback. However, Sheehan is also noted as a steady "true" bassist, fulfilling the traditional supportive role of the electric bass in the rock rhythm section. He has been a member of the Church of Scientology since 1971[2] and appeared on the street offering to defend it during Project Chanology.

I'm REALLY surprised Steve Vai wasn't included in this project, I consider him to be one of the greatest guitarists alive. Congrats to Brian though, I'm sure this is a good listen, I'm gonna have to go pick it up.

The early part of the 21st century found instrumental guitar genius Steve Vai keenly exploring his long-brewing interest in orchestral composition and performance. In 2003, Vai was commissioned by the Dutch government to compose one hour of music, and in his inimitable style, the former Frank Zappa protege went much further, adding an additional hour's worth of his existing rock guitar compositions and scoring orchestral arrangements for them.
