Yamaha has continued its legacy of blending tradition with innovation by rolling out its new-for-2026 guitar lineup – and it’s headlined by one of the firm’s most player-requested signature guitars of recent years.

By merging timeless designs with a forward-thinking approach to aesthetics and engineering, the Japanese guitar maker has become a serious force to be reckoned with in the wider world of electric and acoustic guitars.

Buck is one of the Revstar’s biggest proponents. It is central to his overall sound, which teeters on the edge of classic rock, blues, pop and far beyond, as heard in Cardinal Black and his solo work. A custom gold-version has been the foundation of that tone – and now it's finally available to the masses.

The RS02CB faithfully recreates his custom model, with a Honey Gold finish, refined inlays, custom-voiced P90-style pickups, a chambered body and a carbon-reinforced neck. True to Yamaha’s innovative ethos, it’s crafted using its Acoustic Design process to offer rich sustain and perfect balance.

It’s the guitar that Buck fans have been waiting years for, but its appeal extends far beyond Buck’s music. As a platform for expression, the Revstar is an endlessly inspiring instrument – and with Buck’s tweaks, the RS02CB brings something fresh to the table.

Joining Buck’s long-awaited signature guitar is the Pacifica SC Professional – a single-cut version of the celebrated Pacific Professional, which Guitar World raved about when it launched back in 2024.

Crafted in Japan, it blends classic T-type style with refined modern playability, tailored specifically for today’s guitarists. It boasts newly designed Reflectone pickups, which were co-designed with Rubert Neve Designs. They provide exceptional articulation and clarity, and line up in an S-H configuration – with an additional Focus switch – for added versatility.

It looks like a golden era guitar, but it’s further supercharged with that same proprietary Acoustic Design process, new ergonomic body contours for optimal comfort, and a rounded-C neck with a custom-tinted satin finish, as well as a 9”-12” compound radius fingerboard.

Gotoh locking tuners, a compensated three-saddle brass bridge, and Yamaha’s I.R.A (Initial Response Acceleration) treatment also make the cut to provide expressive depth and reliable performance in any musical setting.

The Pacifica has been a key pillar of Yamaha’s guitar arsenal, and with the arrival of this new single-cut – the first in production since the early 2000s – the firm has leveraged its expertise to level up the tried-and-trusted platform.

To complete its NAMM 2026 drop, Yamaha has celebrated 60 years of guitar making with the 60th Anniversary RSP20B Revstar – a gorgeous Noble Black-finished version of the Revstar that flashes a flame maple top and a Goldo tremolo for a more rugged rock ‘n’ roll setup.

The Yamaha FG9 60th Anniversary Edition, meanwhile, likewise doubles down on the company’s innovation in the acoustic space, pairing Adirondack spruce, Guatemalan rosewood and a cutting-edge Japanese design to produce exceptional tone, projection and aesthetics.
