For the release of his 11th solo studio album, titled No Pier Pressure, Brian Wilson has returned to Capitol Records, his original label home with The Beach Boys. As we've reported, Jeff Beck and Brian Wilson are in the middle of an 18-date fall tour that kicked off September 27 in Hollywood, Florida, and ends October 27 in Akron, Ohio. Last night, however, the duo — and their entire band, which also features Beach Boys Al Jardine and David Marks — visited Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to play a medley of the Beach Boys' "Our Prayer" and the traditional tune "Danny Boy."
This fall, guitar great Jeff Beck will be hitting the road with the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson. The two legends first met in 2006, and their friendship has led to Beck being invited to play on Wilson's forthcoming solo album — and joining him on a fall tour that kicks off September 27 in Hollywood, Floria, and ends October 27 in Akron, Ohio. Tickets go on sale August 9.
The Beach Boys -- Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston and David Marks -- will reunite in 2012 for a 50-date, 50th anniversary tour and a new studio album (on Capitol Records, no less!). The anniversary celebration also will include commemorative catalog releases on Capitol/EMI. The international tour is slated to kick off in April, with a headlining performance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
