As the mornings grow cooler and our strings contract, Australian Guitar #163 is here to lend some heat. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Back In Black, AC/DC's Angus Young graces the cover for a lavish nine-page feature celebrating the landmark record that "saved rock 'n' roll" (Slash).

Elsewhere we catch up with Courtney Barnett to chat electric finger style and what she's been up to between LPs (a brilliant Fender Session and this Neil Young cover), as well as Bob Weir and John Mayer from Dead & Company, who carry the Grateful Dead torch into some very bizarre arenas indeed.

We've also got chats with Kiki Wong, Mark Tremonti and Johnny Marr, as well as a nice wrap of the Melbourne Guitar Show and a big 7 page guide to country-blues rock technique (as well as some more metal and directly rock-centric offerings).

We also have a big look at the Japanese guitar manufacturing boom of the '70s and '80s, with all the brilliant and bizarre oddities that entails, as well as gear reviews covering off names like Fender, Taylor, Cort, Orange, Hamstead and more.

Australian Guitar #163 is available now at newsagents all around the country, and online via TechMags or iSubscribe.
