Wayne Kramer

The MC5 guitarist had worked on its design before his passing last year, and now it serves as an immortalization of his proto-punk legacy

With his six-string brother-in-arms, the late Fred “Sonic” Smith, Kramer was the architect of the MC5's tough, years-ahead-of-its-time sound, best exemplified on their legendary 1969 debut album, Kick Out the Jams

Titled Heavy Lifting, the album is set to feature guest appearances from Tom Morello and Alice in Chains frontman William DuVall

The new version benefits the Miraculous Love Kids, raising awareness and funds for women affected by violence in the region

Morello - along with Nuno Bettencourt, John 5, Wayne Kramer, Vernon Reid, Bibi McGill and Billy Howerdel - discuss the can't-miss guitar experience

Fender has posted a new short film -- A Strat is Born -- that can best be described as a high-speed ride through the creation of a Fender Stratocaster.
