Line 6 has announced Helix Stadium Native – a new plugin to bring next-gen digital guitar tones to your DAW.

It has been launched alongside a completely free Intro version, which offers a collection of Helix Stadium amps, cabs, effects and features at zero cost, with no expiry date.

Available for Windows and macOS, the Helix Stadium Native Intro is the basic version of the fully fledged plugin and requires users to register for a free Line 6 account to download.

While the paid-for version packs in 27 Agoura amps over 55 channels, 111 Agoura amps, 46 cabs, and 274 studio effects, the Intro is far more streamlined.

In total, Helix Stadium Native Intro offers five amps models with nine channels, five matching cabs, and 16 effects. It’s a bite-sized taster of what the Helix can do.

As a pleasant bonus, Proxy – Line 6's cloud-assisted capture technology – and Impulse Response compatibility have both been included in Intro.

Amp models include the Brit 2203MV, Revv 120 Red and Ampeg SVT 50th anniversary bass amp. Digital clones of the Klon Centaur, Ibanez TS808 and ProCo Rat are part of the package.

Helix Stadium features have also been baked it. The Line 6 Hype control, which “morphs between ultra-authentic and idealized amp sounds”, is present alongside a Focus View parameter EQ.

The Helix Stadium is Line 6’s next-generation floor modeler, and it’s emboldened by brand-new modeling algorithms, touchscreens, and a Showcase feature that could feasibly see the unit replacing band laptops.

A lot of work has gone into its fancy new Agoura modeling methodology, which the firm has humbly described as “a new benchmark for authentic sound when modeling physical amplifiers.”

Although limited, the free Intro plugin could be a gateway for pulling more players away from the Quad Cortexs and Kempers of the world.

“Helix Stadium Native includes unique tools that enable you to craft tones practically at the speed of thought,” says Line 6.

The Helix Stadium Native Intro plugin is now available for download and has no expiration date. The paid version is priced at $99.99–$ 399.99, and includes a 15-day free trial.
