Mastodon have been known to write a song or two about prehistoric beasts, but I'm pretty sure they never mentioned a purple dinosaur anywhere in the lyrics to Leviathan.

That said, the band have just posted the following photo on their Facebook wall with absolutely no context what so ever. Feel free to speculate about what Mastodon are doing with Barney in the comments below.

Mastodon released their latest album, The Hunter, back in September.
