Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and with it comes the arrival of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, one of the biggest online shopping events of the year. As always, we’re expecting to see a huge haul of unbelievable Black Friday guitar deals on everything from electric and acoustic guitars, to basses, effects pedals, amplifiers and guitar accessories, right through the event.

The number of Black Friday guitar deals can be overwhelming to the uninitiated, but with a little preparation and knowing where to look, it’s possible to score loads of amazing bargains. We’re here to help you score a new guitar, complete your pedalboard, or supercharge your tone with a new amp. Heck, maybe you just need a new set of strings – there will be deals on those, too!

Our deals experts will be updating this Black Friday guitar deals hub regularly with the very latest guitar gear bargains, so stay tuned.

Black Friday guitar deals 2019: what are the dates?

So, when is Black Friday? It has always taken place straight after Thanksgiving, meaning this year it falls on Friday November 29.

Experience tells us that you can expect to start seeing huge Black Friday guitar gear deals landing much earlier than that, possibly into October and certainly from early November, so it’s worth keeping your eyes peeled.

Beyond Black Friday, the deals will stretch across the whole weekend and through to the end of Monday December 2, which is known as Cyber Monday. Is's a veritable deals bonanza!

Black Friday guitar deals 2019: what can I expect?

For starters, Amazon and Walmart Black Friday sales will be the place to pick up everything from price-dropped Amazon Echo devices to discounted guitars, amps, effects and guitar accessories – of course, we’ll be bringing you the best deals we can find right across the event.

We’ll also be looking to major guitar retailers like Musician’s Friend, Zzounds and Sweetwater for the very best Black Friday music deals. These companies always go big with juicy Black Friday guitar deals and, based on last year's intel, we’re expecting huge things from the Guitar Center Black Friday sale.

As an example, last year GC was offering up to $1,180 off Gibson's 2018 electric, acoustic and bass guitars. Could we see similar Black Friday Fender deals in 2019?

Should I buy guitar gear online during Black Friday?

If you're concerned about buying a guitar or other gear on Black Friday without playing it first, you needn’t be. Online music instrument retailers like Guitar Center , Musician’s Friend and Sweetwater offer hassle-free returns as standard, so you can purchase a guitar, play it in the comfort and privacy of your home and, if it’s not right, send it back without issue. You should check the specific returns policy for your chosen retailer before you purchase, but most offer between 30-45 days to return an item, as long as it’s in original condition.
