Dave Mustaine

Fans had to wait 23 years to see a reunion between Megadeth and their long-estranged guitarist. It's looking likely that the next wait will be much, much shorter

Dave Mustaine and co reunited with their former guitarist for a headline show at Tokyo's Budokan to perform three songs from Friedman's tenure

Reflecting on his relationship with Metallica, the Megadeth frontman also gave his opinion on Kirk Hammett playing his parts – and claimed James Hetfield only played guitar in the band because they “couldn’t find anyone else” to do it

Friedman will join Dave Mustaine at the band's first-ever headline show at the Budokan later this month, and will share guitar duties for a three-song encore

Mustaine appeared on the metal legends' 2017 album, Bloodlust, with Body Count frontman Ice-T subsequently returning the favor on Megadeth's 2022 track, Night Stalkers

The former Slayer guitarist calls the Megadeth frontman a “f**king great guitar player” in the latest issue of Metal Hammer

"It was a guy with a guitar that doesn't know how to play... It wasn't anything really mind-blowing by any means. The way James played it made it mind-blowing"

The Megadeth frontman says that he and Gibson are working on the Explorer, with the Les Paul set to follow "next year, maybe the year after"

The pair were in talks over a new project, but discussions fell through due to a disagreement over a “publishing discrepancy”
