Gretsch has announced the G7593T Billy Duffy White Falcon guitar. The new guitar, named and designed for The Cult guitarist, has unique aesthetic differences that separate it from the rest of the “Falcon” flock.
Ah, how young and innocent we all were when Fender introduced its first signature model — the Eric Clapton Stratocaster — in 1988. Of course, Chet Atkins' signature appeared on several Gretsch models (the Tennessean, for example) long before then, and let's not forget that Les Paul -- the name that appears on millions of headstocks — was actually a person.
Limited to 2013 production only, the guitar is a meticulously crafted replica of the black Fender Stratocaster Blackmore played with Deep Purple in the early ’70s, including the recording of seminal album Machine Head and the band’s greatest hit single.
Fender has added four new models to its Pawn Shop Series, which the company calls a line of "guitars that never were but should have been.” There's the Pawn Shop ’70s Strat Deluxe, Pawn Shop Super-Sonic, Pawn Shop Mustang Bass and Pawn Shop Bass VI.
Fender and Kenny Wayne Shepherd have been working together since the blues artist was a 17-year-old phenom and heir apparent to the SRV throne. Since then, Shepherd has established himself as both a singular contemporary blues guitarist and a master of the genre’s established forms and tones. His signature Fender Strat is made of the same stuff, combining modern components with features inspired by some of Shepherd’s favorite vintage Strats. The result is a powerhouse blues guitar at a wallet-friendly price.
PRS Guitars has announced its new Brent Mason signature model guitar. Mason, a Nashville session pro, worked with Paul Reed Smith for several years to arrive at this unique model that meets the need for a versatile and reliable, recording and gigging instrument.
