Brett Garsed
Brett Garsed was born in rural Victoria, Australia and began playing guitar at age 12 after hearing Deep Purple’s Ritchie Blackmore play Speed King.
Brett’s playing style always revolved around legato and hybrid picking from day one: “I don’t know why I started playing that way, it just seemed so natural.” This eventually led him to the music of Allan Holdsworth, a life-changing experience.
Alongside his work with John Farnham, Brett has also featured on albums with Nelson, TJ Helmerich, and Planet X. Brett is a well respected and experienced instructor, having held a teaching position at Musicians Institute, writing tutorial books on legato, slide and hybrid picking and providing instruction on his website.
