A representative for the Detroit Police has told Variety thatChris Cornell'sdeath is being investigated as a suicide, although he emphasized that it's too early to make any conclusions.

As reported earlier today, Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell died last night, May 17, in Detroit, just hours after a Soundgarden show at theFox Theatre.
