Tom Morello
Widely regarded as one of the most sonically innovative guitar players of all time, Tom Morello redefined the sound of the electric guitar and recorded some of its greatest riffs as part of ’90s rap-rock pioneers Rage Against the Machine.
Inspired by hip-hop production, Morello conjures DJ-like effects via a suite of signature techniques, including toggle-switching, pick scraping and boundless use of the DigiTech Whammy pedal.
Together with Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell, he formed the supergroup Audioslave in the early Noughties, while he has also recorded albums under his own name, with Prophets of Rage, Street Sweeper Social Club, and his folk alter ego The Nightwatchman, alongside numerous guest spots.
