Recorded at Johnson’s studio in Austin, Texas, Eclectic — which will be released October 27 — is a tasty collection of songs highlighting the strengths of each guitarist. With an infectious rhythm section consisting of drummer Anton Fig (The Late Show with David Letterman) along with Johnson’s regular bassist, Chris Maresh.
Each of the nine hand-selected Les Pauls will be played by Haynes during one of the Allman Brothers Band’s final six shows at New York’s Beacon Theatre over the next week. All proceeds benefit the Big House Museum in Macon, Georgia; the purchase will be a tax-deductible donation.
