Darrell Lance Abbott – better known as Dimebag Darrell – was Pantera’s trailblazing guitarist, and redefined metal in the ’90s with monster-truck-sized riffs and leads that helped shape the groove metal genre.

Armed with his signature Dean ML guitars – particularly the lightning bolt-painted model dubbed “Dean From Hell” – Dimebag forged a razor-sharp tone that’s equal parts aggression and clarity.

Squealing harmonics, wide vibrato, and lightning-fast alternate picking became his trademarks, as showcased on classic albums Cowboys from Hell, Vulgar Display of Power, and Far Beyond Driven.

Celebrated as one of metal’s greatest of all time, Dimebag’s playing continues to influence metal and hard rock guitarists decades after his untimely passing.
