Correction to the piece on The Wailers: Donald Kinsey replaced Al Anderson in the band and appeared on Rastaman Vibration but left Jamaica and the band after Marley was shot.
Kinsey was later to front The Kinsey Report.

Never quite considered Neil Young a musician. There is a big difference between playing a guitar than beating music out of it. I think I would have preferred to seen Silver Bullet Band instead of Crazy Horse. The difference in the quality of the music and the performance they put on is like night and day. But then it's just one persons opinion.

THE BAND, while on this list is way to low. They belong in the top five. I agreed with Crazy Horse and E Street Band. But the band belonged in the top five with them. Levon Helm alone elevated the band to legend status. I think GW puts an article together and tries to add something that will bring controversy.

Really!??!!! Either this list is way too short or ya'll just have amnesia. Throughout history, WHAT band has been tighter than the JBs? C'mon, you have to give credit to them. James Brown was a singer and an entertainer. How often did you see him behind the drums, playing piano, vibing with a bass? Never because he had too much work to do up in front. The foundation for who we was as a singer and dancer rested heavily on the JBs. Honestly, they should be, without a doubt, #1. Now consider this. In the same way that Star Wars and The Matrix changed the way movies were made and viewed, or the shift in understanding after Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen came on the scene, so to was James Brown's impact on music. And the foundation for that was the JBs. Without them we would not have Parliament/Funkadelic (as most of the JBs left for that outfit) Larry Graham, Prince, Hip Hop, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Question: Can the Bluesbreakers fit into this category?
Nice touch adding The Roots. Really never expected to see them get any sort of mention in a high quality magazine such as GW. Nice. Also like the mention of both the Wailers and Double Trouble.

How about Toto? I know that they were never a backing band in the form of "so and so and Toto", but they did play on literally thousands of records as a group(such as Thriller by Michael Jackson) and with their own stuff, which is great as well

No mention of The Eagles? All 4 original members were part of Linda Ronstadt's backing band. Seems like a pretty big omission from this list.
