I’ve just found two of Amazon’s best value beginner acoustic guitar deals to get you started from only $105 – plus save on a gigbag and tuner for the ultimate beginner bundle
The Fender California Debut Redondo series are dreadnought acoustics that sound and play far above their price – and that’s before their generous Prime Day discounts
Fender’s California series was, at one point, a semi-experimental oddity in the brand’s pre-millennium run; in the intervening years, though, it’s been rehabilitated, revitalised and re-cultivated into a well-loved range of incredibly accessible, incredible-playing beginner and intermediate acoustics. The California Debut series brings those instincts to some tantalising low-budget price points – and with its Redondo acoustics and electro-acoustics.
And now, for Prime Day, Amazon has seen fit to drop the price on two standout Debut models to even more tantalizing prices – including this stealthy black number down to only $104.99.

Fender’s California Debut Redondo series is arguably Fender’s most accessible series of entry-level acoustics yet, with a sound that reaches well above its list price of $139.99 – which makes its Prime Day-discounted price of $104.99 all the more enticing. This acoustic comes in a handful of colorways, but, as for what exactly that tasty 22% discount entitles you to, I’ll borrow a phrase from a certain Henry Ford: “you can have it in any color, as long as it’s Black.”
If you’ve got a little more money in your pocket, you might instead be swayed by the next leg up in the California Debut Redondo series – the electro-acoustic CE editions, which feature an onboard Fender preamp with a built-in tuner and a sharp single-cutaway body. Usually $169.99, the CE series is available at $126.99 for Prime Day. It’s a stonkingly cheap price for a great beginner electro-acoustic; that price also buys you one of three colorways, in 2-tone Sunburst, Black or Natural.
The California Debut series is the cheapest steel-stringed range in Fender’s acoustic-guitar roster, with a variety of models in different shapes and sizes. The California Debut Redondo guitars are dreadnought acoustics, with an exceedingly comfortable and fast-playing C-shaped, walnut-fingerboarded neck; the body is lighter than most, but its spruce top assists in some powerful sound that leaps far above the $139.99 list price. For Prime Day, though, it’s 25% off at $104.99 – strikingly cheap for the value on display.
The California Debut Redondo CE series takes that same effective formula for underpriced comfort and playability, this time with a single-cutaway for more comfortable access to the higher extremities of the fingerboard – and also with electronics, in the form of an under-saddle piezo pickup feeds into a battery-powered Fender FE-A2 preamp module. The module itself sports separate volume and tone controls and a built-in tuner, which feed a jack output – all this for just $126.99 on Prime Day.
These discounted Fender acoustic guitars are already a steal, but if you’re in the market for accoutrement then Prime Day still has you covered. After all, if you’re buying a new Fender acoustic, you’ll probably want a gig bag to carry it around in, and maybe a clip-on tuner too, whether to rehearsals or your next show… And why not trust Fender with those, too?
Fender’s F405 gig bag is an Amazon-exclusive, and a hardy thing courtesy of its tough, water-resistant polyester exterior. It’s padded for your guitar’s comfort, has backpack straps for your comfort, and has a little pouch in the front for your accoutrements too. For Prime Day, this soft case can be yours for 30% less than list price.
Every guitarist needs a tuner in their back pocket – whether figuratively or literally. Fender’s FT-1 tuner is a great option in either case, being a foolproof clip-on tuner for easy reigning-in of your acoustic or electric. It’s usually $31.99, but Prime Day sees that price slashed by 66%; pick it up for just $10.99, and never be caught short (or sharp) again.
