Metalocalypse’s Dethklok Announce Summer Tour
This summer, Dethklok, the animated band from Adult Swim’s Metalocalypse, hits the road on a 28-city headlining tour, beginning June 2 in Portland, along with two of metal’s top acts, Chimaira and Soilent Green. Tickets to the five-week Adult Swim Presents tour will go on sale to the general public starting Friday, April 18, through Ticketmaster, but a special pre-sale offer will be made available one week earlier to the most brutal Adult Swim fans. On Sunday, April 13, Adult Swim fans tuning in to Metalocalypse during the 12:00 a.m. (ET/PT) showing will be given a pre-sale password allowing them access to a customized Dethklok page on Ticketmaster’s web site, ticketmaster.com/dethklok. Immediately after receiving the password, fans can purchase tickets, which range in price from $20 - $25. The password will also be made available to fans on adultswim.com beginning Monday, April 14.
This major tour starring the five band members from Adult Swim’s Metalocalypse—Nathan Explosion, William Murderface, Skwisgaar Swigelf, Toki Wartooth and Pickles—comes on the heels of an incredibly successful fall for the band. In its first time touring, Dethklok opened for And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead in a 12-city college tour that did not disappoint. Released in conjunction with the tour was the band’s first album, Dethklok: The Dethalbum, which debuted at #21 on the Billboard Top 200 during its first week of release, making it the highest charting death metal album ever. More than 195,000 copies of Dethklok: The Dethalbum have been sold to date, and more than 120,000 copies of the Metalocalypse: Season 1 DVD from Warner Home Video have been sold since its release in October 2007.

Created by Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha, Adult Swim’s Metalocalypse follows the on and off-stage adventures of Dethklok, the undisputed greatest animated metal band in the galaxy with a true talent for creating the most death-defying music ever. Unfortunately for Nathan Explosion, William Murderface, Skwisgaar Swigelf, Toki Wartooth and Pickles, that’s about all they can do, period. Put them in front of a sold-out crowd of dedicated fans, and they’ll play so hard that the audience pukes their guts out, but give them a carton of milk and they’ll wash their long, lovely locks with it. New episodes from Metalocalypse’s second season will launch on Adult Swim in May.
