Solar Guitars

Ola Englund’s firm has announced an angular new bass shape that looks to introduce a “new standard for metal bass”

With the addition of locking tuners, Solar's latest models position themselves as “pro instruments at a killer price”

The Down and Crowbar riffsmith's newest no-nonsense Solar signature was designed with “simplicity is power” in mind

Thanks to a unique blend of metals, paints and polymers, the Chrome Canibalismo will respond and age to your playing

17 models across 6 body shape categories have been introduced, with not one of them weighing above $349

A workhorse in wolf’s clothing, this Type V is not playing around

“Truly violent finish processes” are the order of business for Solar's Catalonia-based custom shop, which has opened its doors with two absurdly gnarly builds

Ola Englund’s latest European Master build is packed with high-end components and features a beautifully-carved swamp ash body

The shred-ready models each feature stainless steel frets, a pair of Duncan Solar humbuckers, and – in all but one case – a tone knob with push/pull coil-splitting capabilities

The Ola Englund-led firm's first up-market six-string features a killswitch, and is powered by "modern and aggressive" custom-wound humbuckers
