Over 7,000 guitarists of all kinds — electric, acoustic, bass, classical — gathered at Poland's Thanks Jimi Festival yesterday in order to break the Guinness world record for "Largest Guitar Ensemble" with a performance of Jimi Hendrix's "Hey Joe."
Joe Lynn Turner didn’t set out to become one of the most recognizable voices in rock. His goal was to be a guitar player, in addition to singing and songwriting, but it didn’t take long for his dynamic range to push him to frontman status — fronting bands led by guitar heroes.
Led by their three-headed guitar frenzy and unabashed Black Sabbath worship, Black Spiders have hit the ground running in the UK. Their debut album, Sons of the North, was met with critical and commercial approval across the pond last year, and the band were selected by Ozzy Osborne to open on Ozzfest's UK leg. More recently, they were just hand-picked by Thin Lizzy to open for a run of shows in May.
Next month, Neil Young and Crazy Horse will release their new album, Americana, via Reprise records. The album contains interpretations of American standards like "Clementine ," "Gallows Pole" and yes, even "She'll Be Comin' 'Round the Mountain."

Now appearing live with Jack White, Björklund is thrilled to bring the pedal steel guitar to stages and TV studios worldwide! Early in her career, Björklund was best known in Europe as a guitarist for the all-girl country band, The Darleens, and experimental pop group, Miss B Haven.
