The Fender Custom Shop is pleased and wistful to announce that one of its most revered employees, “pickup artist” Abigail Ybarra, is retiring after more than 50 years in the Fender family. In celebration, Fender arranged for Los Lobos to play at her private retirement party with dozens of her coworkers.

Fender has added four new models to its Pawn Shop Series, which the company calls a line of "guitars that never were but should have been.” There's the Pawn Shop ’70s Strat Deluxe, Pawn Shop Super-Sonic, Pawn Shop Mustang Bass and Pawn Shop Bass VI.
Fender has introduced the Limited Edition Sheryl Crow 1959 Custom Telecaster. Only 60 of these guitars have been made, with one signed by Crow and donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation in observance of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Squier by Fender Strat Guitar with USB and iOS Connectivity features an onboard mini-USB connector that allows players to interface with all the aforementioned devices, with no extra hardware needed, including GarageBand and other apps on iOS.
