First and foremost, I'm a guitar enthusiast – a fanatic, some might say. I firmly believe most of the world's problems could be solved with a Gibson Firebird and a catastrophically loud amp.
I joined the Guitar World team in 2021 and am currently the site's Senior Deals Writer. I help create and maintain the 200+ buyer's guides on the Guitar World, scour the internet for the best possible deals on a range of guitar products and spend a lot of my time getting hands-on with the latest guitars, amps, pedals and more - my gear reviews have also been published in prominent publications including Total Guitar and Future Music magazines, as well as on MusicRadar.com.
I also enjoy chatting to pro players about the gear they swear by and have interviewed many of my heroes including members of Sum 41, Foo Fighters, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators, Creeper, Thrice and more.
In a past life, I worked in music retail. For a little under a decade, I advised everyone from absolute beginners and their parents, to seasoned pros on the right gear for their needs, which has equipped me perfectly for my current role.
My world doesn't just revolve around guitars either; I also have a passion for live sound. I'm a fully qualified sound engineer who holds a first-class Bachelor's degree in Creative Sound Production from the University of Abertay and I have plenty of experience working in various venues around Scotland, where I live with my wife and dog.
